Tissue Creping Blades
During the creping process, the blade provides an important help to detach the paper from the yankee cylinder, influencing the paper retraction and consequently the final product features.
Italiana Lame produces different types of creping blades in order to supply the most suitable one, considering the desired final product and the machine features and parameters.
The carbon steel creping blades manufacturing, Italiana Lame
has then been integrated with the production of blades with
ceramic coating, called EVERCONTACT®, and
with carbide coating, called CABOFLAM®.
The two types have different features
that must be evaluated considering the different
production requirements.
The creping blades with coated edge allow the following production improvements.
High wearing resistance, and consequently longer life.
Maintaining of the initial edge shape, even with the most critical usage situations.
Production quality maintenance.
Reduced friction in the contact points, and consequently reduced heat generation.
increased energy saving by reducing the friction and increasing of yankee cylinder life coating.

high quality standards of the final product guaranteed.

“New Life”. Creping blades
Italiana Lame takes back EVERCONTACTⓇ creping blades that have already served in the machine to give them a new lease of life.
EVERCONTACTⓇ are suitable for the regrinding process after use, to enable the tissue manufacturer to remount them in the machine and obtain high quality paper.
These blades are designed and developed with specific physical and dimensional characteristics necessary to make them suitable for the subsequent regrinding process.
The life cycle, new blade – used blade – refurbished blade, can be measured in terms of hours worked, paper quality, output, comparing it to the initial purchase costs – subsequent regrinding costs, to determine the reliability and cost-saving of your manufacturing process.
Italiana Lame, after collecting used blades, carries out a preliminary visual analysis to select, one by one, the blades which can actually be refurbished.
Next, all foreign bodies, residues from paper mill processing, are thoroughly removed for subsequent grinding. This operation can be carried out according to the customer’s instructions on grinding angles: 75°-80°-85°-90°.
Finally, the accurate inspection of the ground blades with specific instruments in order to make a final selection of blades suitable for re-labelling and dispatch.
In many cases, where blades have been treated with care and diligence by all parties involved in the use and machining processes, on average EVERCONTACTⓇ blades have been reground at least once.
Creping blades with carbide tip Caboflam®
compared to EVERCONTACTⓇ better cohesion of the coating and consequently higher resistance to vibrations and to breakage
